Netflix’s One Piece live action series is only a little over a month away — set your log post to August 31, even though that’s not how log poses work. But to tie us over, we finally have a full trailer to dissect and overanalyze, with cameos and bounty poster easter eggs galore. For a special bonus episode of Rookie Pirate Radio, Jon Negroni (me) and Travis Hymas discuss the trailer’s many revelations and how it appears to consolidate the East Blue Saga into just eight hour-long episodes. Hour long? Arlong? Coincidence? Yes. Anyway, we also dive into the special effects, fight scenes, Oda’s letter to the community, and a whole lot more.
