Three Favorites With Hannah Brown

If you’re not familiar with her (and you probably should be) Hannah Brown is a television personality, lifestyle expert, podcast host and New York Times bestselling author of God Bless This Mess. She was first introduced to viewers on The Bachelorette and the season 28 winner of Dancing With The Stars. She’s incredibly accomplished and exudes charm and authenticity into everything she does, including helping advocate for mental health and empowering women.

Her debut novel, Mistakes We Never Made, is a swoon-worthy rivals-to-lovers romp that any romance reader will love. I was thrilled that she was willing to share her favorite reads with us.

So what are Hannah Brown’s three all-time favorite reads?

I’m Hannah Brown, my debut romance novel Mistakes We Never Made came out May 7th and is available now. For my Three Favorites, I chose 3 of my all-time favorite books. I couldn’t put these down and absolutely loved escaping into each story. If you are looking for a new book, I can’t recommend these enough!

Tom Lake by Ann Patchett

I got this book when I was killing time at an airport bookstore before heading out to a birthday vacation getaway this past year. I didn’t really know what to expect but it was a signed copy by Ann Patchett and I was intrigued to give it a try. The story is enthralling, following a mother telling her three daughters about her life in the theater, and about the summer she fell in love with a famous actor — that became like George Clooney/Brad Pitt status — in her 20s.

There were two timelines going on in this book, but coupled with the soft and soothing prose,  I felt deeply connected to the mother, Lara. This book is about motherhood and allowing your children to see you as who you are, as who you were, other than “mom”. I also love how this book does a great job of capturing how different types of love come to us at during our lifetime, and how they serve us in different ways. This book was so beautiful and gave me all the feels!

Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I love anything Taylor Jenkins Reid has written. I’m a big fan and read this book before it was adapted into a TV series. I was obsessed and got everyone in my family to read it. The way the book was written, in an interview style, was so cool and the readers were able to hear so many different points of view in this format. I am really impressed with the author being able to juggle it all and create such distinct voices for so many characters. It retells the life of a rock band on the rise in the 1970s, and the tension between love and rock and roll.

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

The Nightingale is my favorite book I’ve ever read! I really love historical fiction, specifically anything with that focuses on World War II and France. This book is about two sisters as they endure the nightmare of Nazi occupied France. The sisters don’t always agree and they see things very differently, especially during this hellish time. They go separate ways during the war, but both become heroes in their own right. It was truly one of the best books I’ve ever read!
