Author Tamron Hall

We are thrilled to be sharing a three favorites post from two-time Emmy Award-winning television host, executive producer, veteran journalist, and bestselling author, Tamron Hall. Hall’s previous novels, the Jordan Manning series, captivates adult readers. Now, she pivots to a different audience by debuting her first children’s picture book, Harlem Honey. Inspired by her five-year-old son, Harlem Honey is a sweet, beautifully written book about finding home and one that should be read with all the little ones in your life.

So, what are Hall’s three favorite children’s books?

I chose to share my favorite kids’ books because I am the mother of a 5-year-old who is a ferocious reader. I have found that out of everything, reading has connected us in a special way and has been a great way for us to spend time together and bond. He inspired the character of Moses in my very own children’s book, Harlem Honey, entailing of his adventure visiting Harlem’s most iconic spots and learning a valuable lesson about the meaning of home.

100 Mighty Dragons All Named Broccoli by David LaRochelle and illustrated by Lian Cho

My son and I love this book! The illustrations in this book are spectacular. It’s fantastically funny and whimsical and I love it because it incorporates math and geography without your kid even knowing it.

The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors by Drew Daywalt and illustrated by Adam Rex

I am a child at heart and since I was a kid I too have wondered how the rock paper scissors battle started. Finally, we have an answer in a fun and hilarious story that my child loves to read over and over again.

Second to None by Destiny Howell

My son is a little young to read the book on his own but we still love to read it together as a family. It’s a fun mystery that sparks imagination and curiosity and keeps the whole family engaged.
