‘The Traitors’ 3×10 review: “The Power of the Seer”

By March 2, 2025No Comments5 min read

Danielle’s journey on Peacock’s The Traitors can’t ever be relaxing. It’s one of the most consistent arcs of The Traitors Season 3. Even when she finally recruited Britney to the Traitors (her long-awaited goal), she’s still hanging on by a thread. Or in the case of “The Power of the Seer”, it’s a cliffhanger vote. She’s only one vote away from reaching the finale, but the penultimate episode of Season 3 could be foreshadowing her disaster after weeks of schemes and campaigning.

Together as Traitors

If the vote doesn’t go in Danielle’s way, at least she got Britney on her team for one round. Going into “The Power of the Seer”, we all knew Danielle was recruiting Britney; she had proudly made this her goal for The Traitors. And when presented with the offer, it wouldn’t make sense for Britney to turn it down. Death or a chance at the prize money? That’s an easy answer to solve. Excitedly, we’d finally get to see Britney and Danielle at peak Traitor energy. And dare we say, they didn’t disappoint.

Danielle and Britney’s Traitor partnership during “The Power of the Seer” was a lot of fun. They balanced each other well in terms of their strengths, and Britney didn’t fumble when taking on the persona of a fake Faithful. It would’ve been interesting to see how she would’ve performed if she was selected as a Traitor during the premiere. Britney is level-headed yet dramatic, cunning, and she has a strong skillset with her words. Sure, she’d kept it quiet most times at the round table, but she held her own against Carolyn. “The Power of the Seer” confirmed that she’s a balancing energy against Danielle. And even when she was freaking out over the vote, Danielle balanced her energy. They did well together – the editors did a good job highlighting their teamwork during the episode.

This treatment also extends to their first murder together in the turret. The pair aligned well, but their murder choice left me unsure. Would you have murdered Tom if you were a Traitor? Tom has a habit of focusing on a set target at round tables, but he was too focused on Dolores. Sure, he threw out Danielle’s name and voted a Traitor out before, but he was still looking incorrectly. Similar to the previous round, the Traitors should’ve murdered Dylan. Dylan is too obvious as a Faithful, and he leads the round table vote too much. His closeness to Danielle and Britney was irrelevant; he has shown to vote out his friends in the past, like Boston Rob and Carolyn. Danielle and Britney fell into the same bad trap once again.

The power of the Seer

One of the new aspects introduced on The Traitors is the role of “The Seer.” This role started on The Traitors U.K. where one player gets the ability to learn the identity of any player in the game. If won by the right person, this power can shake up the end phase so much so that it can lead to the winner(s). It’s a smart move for all of the players to be vying for this power. The Seer can learn some very important information for down the line and cause doubt within the cast.

Danielle winning this power during the challenge was important for her persona. A Faithful would want to be The Seer because it could help them confirm a Faithful ally or locate a Traitor. And the 3-part challenge during “The Power of the Seer” felt fair and balanced enough that anyone could’ve won – she just happened to be the luckiest this time. The mini-games weren’t my favorite challenge of The Traitors Season 3, but a fair and balanced challenge is always preferred in the end. Plus, the nods to previous challenges (like the creepy clowns) added a nice nostalgic touch to the journey we’ve been on this season.

The vote of all votes

Now, it’s time for the roundtable. Gabby was the breakaway star of “The Power of the Seer”. People may disregard Gabby as being unserious or a non-threat. However, she stepped it up and showcased how much of a player she was. Gabby effortlessly matched Danielle’s campaigning with receipt after receipt – she kept a cool head and didn’t fall into any traps. Her words were able to turn the tide that was forming against her. Gabby walked into that round table looking like she was going to be eliminated in a 4-2 vote, but she’s walking away without a single vote on her. That is impressive work!

But the real question we’re all waiting to answer is: Will Britney cause another tie, or did she vote out Danielle? Danielle put a lot of trust in her friend, even going as far to target Carolyn for the Traitor spot. But Britney will always prioritize her survival and make the most level-headed decision. Her comment about Dolores shaking her head and Britney’s shocked reaction after seeing Dolores’s vote made it seem like she read Dolores wrong. We might have to prepare ourselves for Britney to vote out Danielle here. Both options would be good for Britney, but she should double down to keep her vote as is. It’ll look too suspicious for her to flip her vote and then have Danielle revealed as a Traitor.

“The Power of the Seer” was a light and Traitor-focused round that prepared us for the upcoming season finale. The storyline finally brought us to Danielle and Britney being in the Traitors’ turret, so much of the action and pacing followed their journey. But with the excitement of a new power and strong debates at the round table, “The Power of the Seer” kept its weight as an enjoyable round for The Traitors Season 3.

The Traitors airs new episodes on Thursdays on Peacock.
