On this week’s Rookie Pirate Radio, Travis Hymas (me) calls in special guest and expert Kayla Chu to discuss Delicious in Dungeon, the newest hit anime on Netflix. Also known as Dungeon Meshi to fans, the highly anticipated adaptation by Studio TRIGGER has been a feast for our eyes, ears, and maybe even more! Kayla brings her knowledge of the manga to the table, which leads to a great conversation about the already apparent themes of the series.
Our discussion was recorded a little while back, so we will only be discussing up to episode 15 of Delicious in Dungeon. We also talk about the growing impact Netflix is having on anime, including Travis giving kudos to the service for once.
We want your feedback! If you have any questions, corrections, or anything else on your mind, please leave us a comment below. You can also email us (rookipirateradio@gmail.com) or join our Discord and hang out with us on the anime server (or any server!) Be sure to subscribe to Rookie Pirate Radio on your favorite podcast app, so you can stay up to date on all our releases.
