You’d think these warring families would invest in better security at this point, but House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 3, titled “The Burning Mill,” proves us wrong. While a reunion scene between Rhaenyra and Alicent is one of the highlights of this episode, the ending to these episodes are getting a bit repetitive.
In this episode’s discussion, we discuss our favorite parts, like Daemon’s side quest to Harrenhaul and the cool set design we see there, the increasing screen time for Baela and Rhaenya, and the continued inclusion of the townsfolk. We also discuss the strategy of having Master of Whispers as an official title for someone who is essentially a spy, and the disconnect between end of Season 1 Rhaenyra and the Rhaenyra we’ve seen so far this season.
“The Burning Mill” was written by David Hancock and directed by Geeta Vasant Patel. It stars Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Matthew Needham, Sonoya Mizuno, Tom Glynn-Carney, Ewan Mitchell, Phia Saban, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, and Phoebe Campbell.
