
Earlier today, Lionsgate released a new trailer for the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4. The upcoming film is the fourth installment of the assassin saga that has riveted fans with beautiful sceneries around the world, interesting world-building and amazing action ever since it first released in 2014. Now, judging by this trailer, it seems that the trend will continue.
Directed by Chad Stahelski, who helmed the previous installments, John Wick: Chapter will hit theaters on March 24, 2023 and features familiar faces like Keanu Reeves as the broody assassin John Wick, Ian McShane as Winston, and Laurence Fishburne as the Bowery King. But that’s not all. The film introduces Caine, played by Donnie Yen, and Marquis, a mysterious new antagonist played by Bill Skarsgård.
We got our first look at the film at San Diego Comic-Con, featuring Sanada in a high-stakes sword fight against Reeves, plus there were brief images of Skarsgård’s character. In this first trailer, we’re introduced to the general premise of the movie. amidst a world of change, John Wick has to find a way out of the world of assassins. But to do so, he has to confront a new enemy that is turning some of his closest allies against him.
The trailer opens with John praying in a gothic cathedral and chatting with Caine, Sanada’s character. Quickly, we see him meeting with allies who hint at changes in the assassin world and slowly getting ready to return to the fight after the events of the previous movie. Then, the trailer shows us a wide array of action-sets, including the classic shoot-outs and sword fights in locations like a nightclub, a museum and Paris and even a cowboy-style confrontation in the desert, and a potential duel against Marquis, Skarsgård’s character.
John Wick: Chapter 4 releases on March 24, 2023 and promises to deliver a grand, action-packed adventure. Check out the trailer here.
