The One Piece live action series will be available to stream on Netflix starting August 31, but until then, we have a whole new teaser trailer to watch 3 billion times. So this week on Rookie Pirate Radio, Jon Negroni (me) and Travis Hymas sit down to break down the trailer for the upcoming One Piece live action series in plenty of detail. We discuss the character designs, casting, visual effects, and the general legacy of live-action anime adaptations, particularly on Netflix. Plus we speculate on how the show will handle adapting the manga, not just this season but in more arcs to come. And lastly, we finish the episode off with a quick anime check-in.

You can watch the first trailer for the One Piece live action series here.
